More about Electoral Reform.
I found a good article at The Nation online about the political "Duopoly" that exists in American politics. This is what Ralph Nader has been talking about. This is why he is risking his reputation by running in this election.
Here's the link: Let's End the Two-Party Duopoly by The Nation Editor Katrina vanden Heuvel
Coming from the magazine that criticized Nader for running, this is a good turnabout.
The article details Proportional Representation, Instant Runoff Voting, and an idea called Fusion, which allows more than one party to nominate the same candidate. This last idea helps build coalitions.
The article also includes a "democracy tool kit" which talks about public funding of elections, and limiting advertising on television.
If we are to get beyond the idea of constant war on terror, we need to change the way the United States is run. We need a new vision. We need leaders with open minds.
Take a few minutes to read the article, and send a message and let me know what you think.
This blog is about getting people thinking and talking.
Let's talk about solutions. Let's talk about progress.
Let's make Something Better.
